Tigerpaw Preps Mobile, Cloud Business Management Software ...

Tigerpaw Software, the PSA and business management software provider, is preparing to unveil mobile apps and cloud-centric business management software updates for MSPs, VARs, telecom resellers and other target customers, according to President James Foxall. Details will likely emerge at a Tigerpaw User Conference in September 2012. Here?s a preview.

Tigerpaw?s business management software currently has an on-premises design. But a cloud version will very likely be discussed at the user conference. Moreover, Tigerpaw is using HTML 5 as a way to extend its business management applications out to smart phones and tablets. The mobile design will support both on-line and off-line support, ensuring that mobile users can sync with their corporate data.

Tigerpaw President James Foxall shared some of those development clues during an MSPmentor meeting today at CompTIA Breakaway, a major channel partner conference this week in Las Vegas.

Transforming Tigerpaw

Foxall has spent the past two years shifting Tigerpaw from a family-organized lifestyle business into a more scalable organization. That includes hiring executive-level leaders, several of whom have Fortune 1000-type experience. Roughly 85 percent of the management team has changed in the past two years, Foxall indicated.

The PSA (professional services automation) market has undergone multiple changes in recent years. Most of the major players now have mobile and cloud versions. Autotask, for one, was born in the cloud and is now pushing an international strategy. ConnectWise has been connecting the dots between business management software, RMM (remote monitoring and management) software and sales quoting software. And Promys has been promoting its software into mid-market Cisco partners.

At the same time lots of folks are watching Dell, which acquired Quest Software and the PacketTrap MSP/PSA. PacketTrap MSP is on-premises with a cloud version expected in a few months or in 2013. PacketTrap PSA already runs in the cloud.
