Samsung Galaxy S III battery tested by GSMArena, lasts as long as your tablet

Samsung made much ado over the Galaxy S III's 2,100mAh battery, but we've been wondering whether or not that power pack was a major perk or just a necessity to offset that hefty Exynos 4 Quad. One of what looks to be a growing number of escaped pre-release devices was put through the ringer in battery tests and came out looking spic-and-span: it lasted for just over 10 hours for video and voice, or long enough to make even a tablet like the new iPad or Transformer Prime break a sweat. Web browsing wasn't quite so hot, though, which at a bit over five hours was well behind the seven hours of an iPhone 4S. Don't expect the seemingly infinite battery of the Droid RAZR Maxx, and don't be surprised if final devices handle differently, but those with the international Galaxy S III should make it through at least a few interminable meetings watching their favorite reruns... not that we'd condone such a thing.

Thumbtack Revamp Makes It Even Easier To Find A Service Provider

Thumbtack.com, a site that helps people find local service providers (from house cleaners to DJs to math tutors, to use the three examples on the company homepage), unveiled a big redesign earlier this week. Co-founder Sander Daniels says the original version of Thumbtack tried to make finding a service provider easier by avoiding the standard search interface ? people posted what job they were looking for, then Thumbtack connected those posters with a professionals who were qualified to do the work. That's still the basic idea, but the new site is "significantly easier and more sophisticated," Daniels says. Now, when you type in the general category that you're looking for, Thumbtack helps you with the listing by asking questions about the basic information that you'll need to enter.

Kody Brown: I Can't Make Breakfast for All My Wives!

This Sunday, many dads will be waking up early to cook breakfast with their kids as a surprise treat for mom. But Sister Wives star Kody Brown, who has four wives, admits that things go down a little differently in his household on Mother's Day. Amber Portwood: Jailed For Lying About Drug Test!

Troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is back in an Indiana jail after local prosecutors claimed she lied about a medical condition to avoid a drug test.

As part of her probation, Portwood is required to undergo a weekly test and drug court appointment. She was apparently a no-show at last week.

Amber told officials that she was on doctor-ordered bed rest following laparoscopic gall bladder surgery and required to remains so for 2-3 weeks.

A good excuse ... if only it were legitimate.

Amazingly, Amber Portwood's case manager didn't want to take the reality star's word for it. After he spoke to the doctor directly, he learned she lied.

The doctor insisted she WAS well enough to attend her court obligations, and Amber was immediately hauled back to jail for missing the appointment.

Because of the obvious violation of her probation, she's expected to stay behind bars for at least a few weeks until a judge decides the next step.

This isn't her first drug test no-show ... or legal issue stemming from her own lies. She also underreported her income to score government-subsidized housing.
